This time one month ago I had the very special opportunity to attend the Chelsea Flower Show, as well as the surrounding Chelsea area for Chelsea in Bloom. I didn’t expect to be so blown away with what I saw but it certainly delivered on being one of the best and biggest flower shows in the world.
Chelsea Flower Show is a prestigious event in the British calendar, associated heavily with the Royal family, who attend every year. The most popular garden on display was the RHS Back to Nature Garden co-designed by HRH Duchess of Cambridge and Landscape Architects Andree Davies and Adam White.
Being a florist I definitely appreciated the gardens on display but the big highlight for me was seeing so many beautiful and bountiful blooms on display in the great pavilion, which in fact was where our very own Lynne Dallas exhibited in 2016. The variety on offer was unlike anything I had ever seen and the creativity behind the installations was extraordinary.
It was great to see some Australian entries in the Floristry hall representing their skills in such highly detailed and intricate designs.

Chelsea in Bloom, in the surrounding streets of the show, was a great spectacle. The theme this year being ‘Under the Sea’ which was interpreted all over the Chelsea area. We were very lucky to visit on a sunny 23 degree day, which made it even more enjoyable for endless walking and floral street discoveries.
If you ever have the opportunity, this experience should be on every flower lover’s bucket list!
