Advanced Hand Tied Design

PSF Creative Director Lynne Dallas - gives us the low down on the recent Advanced Design Class.

The first students through the doors after our summer break were our Advanced Hand Tied Design Class. Eager to find out about everyone's holidays this lively and engaging group were fun from the get-go, but the chat didn't stop them from creating the most stunning designs.

We worked our way through the techniques and design principles for creating different style and size bouquets and decided we would name them as we went.

The first bouquet was easy, a wild and loose design using summer materials and pushing our creative boundaries to create something without one set focal flower. The result - 'Summer Meadow'!

Everyone loved this bouquet and were surprised at how something that looks so simple and natural was actually quite a challenge to master.

Next up our deliciously colourful layered and grouped bouquet. 'True Colour' - named rather aptly as the song was playing as we made it. It's safe to say that this bouquet was a winner.

The stunning colour combinations and beautiful materials supplied by Pearsons Florist (worth getting up early and going to market with Bernard for) stole the show and we all loved making it.

We finished off the day with a demo piece that everyone enjoyed relaxing and watching being made. A thoroughly enjoyable design day.
