We offer a fast-tracked option, three times a week over 2 months, or twice a week, for four months. Our most recommended pace is once a week for six months.

We offer four intakes per year. January, April, July and October.

The Career Course is a hands-on, industry-led program that gives you
the skills, techniques, and confidence to step into the floristry industry.
It’s a proven pathway to employment, with many of our graduates now running
their own floristry businesses or working in leading studios. Pearsons Career
Course is a superior course, offering cutting-edge, contemporary designs.

Certificate III in Floristry is an accredited floristry course. The program reflects
traditional floral design styles, offering students a foundation in classic
techniques.

Pearsons Career Course costs $18,000.

Your non-refundable deposit of $1,500 secures your place in the course.

The remainder of the course fee is $16,500. You can pay your fees in fortnightly or monthly instalments over 2, 4, or 6 months.

SFL30115 Certificate III in Floristry has 21 units and you must be assessed as competent in all units to be awarded your qualification. This can be achieved by completing all practical assessments, theory assignments, and formal work experience.

With our flexible program, you can select to fast-track your study by attending more than one class per week and finish within 3-6 months.

Yes, to obtain your Certificate III in Floristry, you do need to complete a minimum of 5 full days of work experience in the florist industry. We offer work experience with the team in the Pearsons Florist Design Center.

The Pearsons program is a blend of classroom work and self-paced study.   

Attend 33 full-day classes at our School in Stanmore.

3-6 hours a week of self-paced study at home.

Most classes start at 9:30am and finish at 4:30pm

Complete 5 days of work experience.

All Flowers, foliage, wrapping, and tools are included*

There is also some homework. The more you practice, the better a florist you will become!  We recommend you allocate 2-3 hours per week to practice your floristry.

As Pearsons is NOT REGISTERED with the Australian Government (CRICOS) to accept International Students on a Student Visa, you would have to apply yourself for a short term Visitors Visa. We cannot assist students with a visa to Australia.

Our SFL30115 Certificate III in Floristry costs $13,000.

Certificate III in Floristry fees include:
• All training, workbooks, and enrichment program.
• Flowers and materials required to complete Certificate III Designs. Including workbooks and a tool kit.

What is NOT included in my fees?

• Flowers for three market assignments (budget $200 in total).
• If you wish to repeat a class there is a flower/admin fee of $75.

No previous floristry skills or experience is required.
Students must be a minimum of 15 years of age and require satisfactory completion of Year 10 or equivalent.

All are welcome to join our School. Floristry is visual so most students with English as a second language are able to develop the practical skills required to become a work-ready florist.

However, the theory and written elements of the course can be more challenging.  We recommend meeting with our Enrolment Team before enrolling to discuss the type of support you may require to complete the course. Additional fees may apply.

Enrolment in the course does not automatically guarantee that a student will have the skills to complete all elements of the course. 

To be able to complete all learning and assessments and work effectively in the flower industry you will need:  
a)       A sound command of written and oral English for effective communication both during your course and in the workplace. For example, providing customer service in a flower shop, understanding a client’s needs and quoting for wedding flowers and other functions or events.   
b)       Year 10 or equivalent numeracy skills so you are able to calculate the value of flowers to be used in a bouquet and manage all retail transactions.   
c)       Physical attributes of working in a florist requiring both fine and gross motor skills. Your work day is likely to include unpacking flowers, lifting buckets, flower care and handling, maintaining the store display and standing for long periods. When designing floral arrangements you will be using your hands for fine wiring and making large bouquets.

If you have commenced floristry study at another institution or have experience working as a florist, you may be eligible for exemption for some components of this qualification. For more information read our RPL policy.

We endeavour to support students with Special Learning Needs. A meeting will be organised with the student and the School to determine the best way to respond to specific learning needs.  This might involve Private Tuition, taking a class more than one time, reading material prior to attending a class, having a support person present in the classroom. These arrangements will be put in place on an individual basis and might incur extra cost to the student. Our aim is to provide a supportive learning environment for all students.  

To work effectively in floristry you need good communication and physical skills. You will need to be able to communicate with colleagues and customers, basic numeracy skills and good fine and gross motor skills.

Enrolment on to the course does not automatically guarantee that a student will have the skills to complete all elements of the course.
