In 1969, Clare and Fred Pollak bought a small flower shop in Bondi Junction and soon transformed it into a flourishing floral business with key locations across Sydney. Fifty years later, their son Bernard and grandson Avi carry on their proud heritage and run Pearsons Florist and Pearsons School of Floristry.

Pearsons Director Bernard has been going to the markets since he was a teenager and plays a key role in flower buying across both businesses. You will meet Bernard at the Sydney Flower Markets where he will share his wealth of local floral knowledge. Pearsons CEO Avi looks after all aspects of the business of Floristry, he is an innovator and motivator.

Pearsons School of Floristry has been under the leadership of Director Ilana Pollak for the past five years. Her commitment, passion, and love for floristry are evident as she invests her time in helping each student achieve their floristry goals.

Debra Van Breda grew up surrounded by a beautiful garden filled with flowers, inspiring her to pursue a career in floristry. With over 30 years of industry experience, she has worked in florists across Sydney’s CBD and suburbs. As a trainer, Debra shares her extensive knowledge of the local flower industry and, above all, her love of flowers.

Amy Brinckley has over 20 years of experience in the floristry industry and is the proud owner of three retail florist stores across Sydney. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive experience in retail floristry, weddings and corporate events. As a trainer, Amy brings a wealth of practical knowledge and industry experience to the classroom, sharing her passion for creativity, the variety of floristry and inspiring the next generation of florists.

Linda Jamieson has been sharing her passion for flowers for over 20 years, both through her own floristry stores and by educating budding florists over the past decade. As a trainer, Linda loves passing on her knowledge and experience to help students grow in confidence and develop their skills. Her advice is simple: trust your ability and say yes to every opportunity; you never know where it may lead!

Ali Laurich has built her floristry experience through 20 years of retail, event and corporate floristry across Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, as well as spending time working in Canada. Now back where her own journey began, Ali has returned to Pearsons School of Floristry as a trainer. She brings her broad industry experience and practical knowledge to the classroom, helping students develop their skills and discover their own path in floristry.
