The Art of Monochrome: Celebrating Our First-Ever Pearsons School of Floristry Competition
At Pearsons School of Floristry, we believe floristry is more than arranging flowers. It’s about creativity, technical skill, experimentation and discovering your own artistic style.
This October, we celebrated an exciting milestone with the launch of our first-ever Pearsons School of Floristry Competition: The Art of Monochrome.
Open to our current students and alumni, the competition challenged participants to explore the possibilities of working within a single colour palette, demonstrating how texture, form, line, balance and floral mechanics can come together to create a striking floral design.
One colour palette. Endless possibilities.
Working with a monochromatic palette may sound simple, but creating a compelling design using one colour family requires a thoughtful approach to the elements and principles of design.
From selecting flowers and foliage to exploring contrasting textures, tones and shapes, participants were encouraged to push their creative boundaries and translate their individual ideas into floral art.
The Art of Monochrome gave our students and graduates the opportunity to put their skills into practice, experiment with their creative direction and share their work with the wider Pearsons community.
Celebrating our winners
The competition culminated at our Pearsons Enrichment Night on Monday 19 October, where students, alumni and our community came together to admire the entries and celebrate the creativity and talent within our school.
