What are the symptoms of COVID 19?

DO NOT ATTEND CLASSES if you have any of the following symptoms: 

  • Fever & flu - like symptoms such as cough, sore throat, and fatigue.
  • shortness of breath; chest pain;  confusion or sudden dizziness;  persistent vomiting.

What can be done to stop the spread of coronavirus?

Everyone should practice good hygiene to protect against infections. Good hygiene includes:

  • Get VACCINATED.
  • Washing hands with soap and water.  
  • Avoiding close contact with others, such as touching.
  • DO NOT ATTEND CLASSES if you show any signs of a cold or flu or you have had any contact with an infected person.  

What will happen if a student or staff member of PSF is diagnosed with Covid-19?

You must self-isolate at home for 7 days from the date you got tested, even if you are fully vaccinated. Self-isolation means staying in your home or accommodation and remaining separated from others. Please see the NSW Health COVID-19 Self-Isolation Guideline for further information on how to self-isolate and what supports are available to you should you need them..

Managing Covid Safely at home

 

What happens if you are a CLOSE CONTACT - rules changed as at APRIL 22, 2022 

  • If a team member or student has COVID - Isolate for 7-days and until you have a negative RAT test.
  • A close contact of someone with COVID-19 with NO SYMPTONS:  
    • can attend class but MUST notify PSF 
    • Always wear a mask indoors/classroom for 7 days
    • do a rapid antigen test in the morning before coming to class and attend if negative

 

The best defence against COVID -19 is to be Vaccinated.

 

Vaccination Requirements for WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Pearsons Florist will require ALL STUDENTS UNDERTAKING WORK EXPERIENCE to be FULLY VACCINATED and provide Proof of Vaccination when attending Work Experience
  • Students must be FULLY VACCINATED to undertake FLORISTRY WORK EXPERIENCE co-ordinated by PSF.
  • Students can co-ordinate Work Experience independently of PSF. You should check any Vaccination requirements prior to completing Work Experience

WELLBEING OF STAFF and STUDENTS

Communicate with Students about COVID-19; including vaccination, when to get tested, mask wearing, physical distancing and cleaning.

 

  • Covid Risk Assessment to be undertaken with Students at the beginning of each cluster. 
  • All students provided Link to Covid Safety Plan
  • Messages in FACEBOOK GROUP
  • Emails and SMS sent notifying requirements for VACCINATION and MASKS from October 2021

Display conditions of entry at entrance to Campus

 

  • Signs in Entrance to SIGN IN, WASH HANDS and SOCIALLY DISTANCE
  • Mandatory Mask Wearing in doors
  • Sign at front desk using SERVICE NSW QR Code

Induct Students

  • The PSF COVID BUSINESS SAFETY PLAN will be Published on the PSF WEBSITE.
  • Trainers to run through the COVID SAFETY PLAN with Students at beginning of each Cluster.
  • Trainers to reinforce MASK-WEARING indoors

Physical Distancing

Follow the 4 SQ meter guidelines in each classroom

  • Rooms measured and classroom capacity reduced based on guidelines
  • Class numbers monitored
  • One student per WORK BENCH
  • Class breaks will be staggered so not all classes have lunch at the same time.

Protocol to

Wear MASKS

  • Students are required to ALWAYS wear a Mask INDOORS
  • Trainers will wear Masks except when presenting to the class and only if no students are within 4 sq. meters

Extra care to check the fit of your Mask when Social Distancing is not possible or likely:

  • Floristry Worker Activities
  • Group Exercises
  • On the stairwell
  • In the Cool room

Spare Masks are available in the school

Ventilation

Take steps to improve ventilation

  • Open Windows to increase natural airflow
  • Avoid fans blowing directly on people
  • Front Classroom: Use Air Purifier during classroom hours
  • Eat lunch outdoors where possible
  • Group activities to be completed outside

Hygiene and cleaning

Cleaners briefed on additional hygiene requirements

Thorough Clean Twice weekly

All students/staff responsible for cleaning own workspace daily

  • Included in COVID Induction
  • Trainers to remind students each morning
  • Cleaning products provided and available in each class

Floristry Workers

Additional COVID Tasks added to FLORISTRY WORKERS TASK LIST

Students reminded to wash hands through day

Common Areas are Trainers Responsibility

  • Trainers to create list of TASKS re: common areas
  • A Roster of trainers responsible for cleaning common areas

Record Keeping

All staff, students, and visitors to SIGN IN when attending the School

  • Signage at entrance – CONDITIONS of ENTRY
  • Sign in using Service NSW Government QR CODE

Class rolls

Attendance is recorded for all students and trainer each day in JOB READY

Notifying Authorities

  • If required by NSW Dept of Health or other Government Authority PSF will provide a list of all attendees to the college.
  • Students all informed
